Trezor.io/start – Official Start® Page for Trezor® Users

Welcome to the official Trezor Start® guide — your trusted source for initializing, securing, and using your Trezor wallet safely. Follow this step-by-step setup to protect your digital assets with confidence.

Step 1 — Verify Your Trezor Device

When you receive your Trezor, ensure the packaging is sealed and has not been tampered with. Trezor hardware wallets are designed to be tamper-proof, and any irregularity may indicate an issue. Always purchase directly from Trezor.io or official partners.

Step 2 — Connect and Launch Setup

Connect your Trezor to your computer using the USB cable. Open your browser and visit Trezor.io/start. The site will automatically detect your device and guide you through installing Trezor Suite — the secure desktop application for managing your crypto assets.

Step 3 — Create or Restore a Wallet

You can either create a new wallet or restore a previous one. When creating a new wallet, your Trezor will generate a unique recovery seed (usually 12 or 24 words). Write this down on paper and keep it offline in a safe location. Never take screenshots or store your seed digitally.

Step 4 — Secure with a PIN and Passphrase

During setup, you’ll be prompted to choose a PIN for device protection. You can also enable an optional passphrase for advanced security. These two layers prevent unauthorized access to your crypto assets, even if your device is lost or stolen.

Step 5 — Manage and Protect Your Assets

Once the setup is complete, use Trezor Suite to send, receive, and manage your cryptocurrencies. Every transaction must be confirmed on your Trezor device’s screen, ensuring your private keys never leave the hardware. Keep your firmware up to date through official Trezor channels.
